The environment of Tamil cinema is highly polluted by Mambatiyaan, Suseendhran, Vikram, Simbu, Dharani and what not. When it comes to air conditioner, there's a saying that the shadow/chillness provided by a small tree cannot be compensated by any artificial air conditioners in the world. Such a small n simple tree is MOUNA GURU. I don't hesitate watching a good movie twice and this movie falls in that category.

Reincarnation or rebirth is an off-beaten topic in Tamil films and according to the convenience / knowledge level / budget, the movies were made in the past. To add, as per the sentimental view in Tamil cinema, rebirth stories were not successful except very few. The interesting marketing aspect of this film is Bodhidharma, a Buddhist monk [ wikied very much since the sensation started ]. With a life sized hype and top technicians, they have made this film without any basic research.

Name the film directed by Bala which has 2 jobless dirty heroes, 1 with a strange get-up and another one with lots of sense of humour (!!), 2 neat heroines, a hill town, weak police/forest dept officers, dirty comedy, filler scenes, different smuggling, thiruvizha song, aggressive dances, nerve-wracking fights and a gory climax ?

The reason Psycho was successful was engaging the audience in the girl's view and keeping the serial killing act shown in last few mins time. NNN is the reverse - it shows very eloborately what happens to the main character. Again police force is depicted like comedians. If at all, GVM thinks that he has tried Pysho in his style, this is the best possible INSULT that can happen to the masterpiece.

As per the grammar of stage drama, many characters are introduced in the initial scenes [ Edhirneechal, Viyatnaam veedu, Samsaram adhu minsaram ] and we are clearly informed about the characters who are going to act, weep, try comedy, philosophy, patriotism, religion, sentiment which are nothing but distractions in a narration. Imagine a hijacked flight and a mimicry artist passenger entertaining the flight crew. The only relief is that they didn't place any songs/dances within the flight. However, the same impact has been recreated using dialogues, every passenger talks whatever they feel like.

We have been seeing cop movies since Thangapadakkam days but we are reaching reality in the recent films. Vettaiyadu Vilayadu is again stylishly narrated with more fantasy [ Kamal had some time lesuirely to fight, travel, chase and sing too ! ]. Anjathey was one of the foremost cop movies which broke all the clishes of a cop movie. Yuddham Sei is one more category - this time more on unfolding a case rather than chases/gun fights. This simple CBCID team get guns after the approval from the DSP from armory !

Adukallam's story has two groups but they don't clash the way we expect. It has songs but not picturised as we expect. It has a plot based on Madurai and rooster-fights but it doesn't merely excel in showcasting sports. [ like Vennila kabadi kuzhu ]. It has love but doesn't travel [ at least, mostly ] as usually in films. It has the most twists and turns but nothing as we were trained to visualise so far.

Instead of reviewing the film, I would like to share some thoughts on this film. This is an OK film which made me neither happy nor unhappy. There are multiple reasons which makes the viewer to follow the movie lethargically like Madurai backdrop, slang, Theepetti Ganesan’s dialogues, dirty hero with a new occupational background [ shepherd !
